讲座题目一:The application of multi-agent technology in the research of social networks and information dissemination

讲座时间:9:00-10:30

讲座人:Professor Yichuan Jiang

讲座内容简介:

Social networks and information dissemination have attracted great attention in many fields, and their research results are of great significance both in scientific research and social reality. Social network is mainly composed of the autonomous social entities and their social interactions; and the multi-agent computing has been recognized as an effective method for modeling and analyzing of autonomous multi-agent system. Therefore, the research and analysis of social network and information dissemination based on multi-agent have become a research direction that we should consider at present. In summary, the previous studies of social networks are divided into three main categories: structure oriented, subject oriented, and subject structure crossover. In the latter two classifications, the role of the social subject in the social network is emphasized. Therefore, we mainly combine the latter two kinds of research with multi-agent methods, and discover the relationship between social networks and multi-agent systems, and propose a model framework for multi-agent based social networks research. Then, we will also discuss the typical problems of social networks based on multi-agent research-information dissemination. Finally, we compare the research methods based on multi-agent and other two kinds of classic methods (graph structure analysis method, empirical data analysis method), and the advantages and disadvantages of multi-agent based research methods and their future trends are discussed.

讲座题目二:Task allocation and load balancing based on typical social mechanism

讲座时间:15:00-16:30

讲座人:Professor Yichuan Jiang

讲座内容简介:

Task assignment refers to when task comes; it needs to be allocated to the system nodes with the required resources and ability to perform this task. Meanwhile, the assignment should also meet the predetermined goal, such as minimizing the execution time, maximizing the throughput and the reliability and so on. Load balancing means that if many tasks are piled up at one or some nodes, the waiting time of these tasks will be too long, so the task should be transferred to other idle nodes at this time. Task allocation and load balancing are the research focus in related fields. There are many researches about task allocation and load balancing in single processor multitask scheduling, multi-core computer system, distributed system, network system, cloud computing, Internet of things and social network. After retrieval of the distributed system’s top two journals IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, we have found that the number of recent published papers about this thesis within 5 years is more than 100. Therefore, this research is a traditional and meaningful work. Thus, how can we make innovative work in this traditional research direction? This report introduces a new research approach based on social mechanism to study task allocation and load balancing, and proposes a new task allocation model with the help of typical social mechanisms in human society. Moreover, we will introduce a series of innovative research results in this field.
